- The
Bible is the complete, inspired Word of God and contains no errors
- There
is One God existing in three persons "Father, Son, and Holy
Spirit" (Elohim)
- The God
of the universe hates sin
- Mankind
was created in the Garden of Eden, and was perfect without sin, in the
beginning
- Adam
and Eve were the first created humans on this planet
- Adam
and Eve sinned by eating from the tree of the knowledge of good and
evil, even though God commanded that they not eat from that tree
- Because
of Adam and Eve's original sin, all offspring are born into a state of
sin, we all inherit a sin nature
- All
people are sinners (we have all broken God's laws)
- The
penalty of sin is death, the result of sin is eternal separation from
the presence of God; total and utter separation
- Sinful
man cannot "undo" his sinfulness, he cannot save himself
according to God
- This
presents all men and women with a problem: If man cannot save himself,
then what, if anything, can be done to restore mankind in the eyes of
God?
- God has
provided a way out of this problem, but ONLY one way out
- Every
person must make a personal choice whether to accept or reject God's
provision (salvation)
- Trust
in the promises and in the person of Jesus Christ is the only way to
salvation
- This
gift of salvation is totally free and cannot be earned or purchased
- According
to the Lord, we are saved by grace, through faith in Jesus Christ, not
by works lest any man should boast
- The
Lord wants you to accept His free gift so that you can be restored and
made into a new creature
- The
final decision is yours. Will you choose life, or death?
Acts
16: 25-34, New Living Translation:
25About
midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other
prisoners were listening to them. 26Suddenly there
was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken.
At once all the prison doors flew open, and everybody's chains came loose. 27The jailer woke up, and when he saw the prison doors
open, he drew his sword and was about to kill himself because he thought the
prisoners had escaped. 28But Paul shouted, “Don't
harm yourself! We are all here!”
29The
jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas.
30He then brought them out and asked, “Sirs,
what must I do to be saved?”
31They
replied, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved–you and your
household.” 32Then they spoke the word of
the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33At
that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then
immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34The
jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled
with joy because he had come to believe in God–he and his whole family.
